Boscafé ‘t Hijgend Hert - Pubwalk

Vijlen (municipality of Vaals) is the highest village in the Netherlands and the only village that describes itself as a mountain village. The Vijlenerbos springs at the foot of the village. This forest is the largest in the Netherlands and is well known for its unique hiking opportunities.

In the middle of the forest, at an altitude of 260 m, lies the forest café (Boscafé) "Het Hijgend Hert", which is the only mountain hut in the Netherlands. The forest café has a beautiful terrace with a great view of the SnowWorld ski hall in Landgaraf, the largest indoor ski hall in Europe).

Only 7 km from XIOR-Katzensprung. The walk is definitely worth it.
