Westpark - barbecue in the countryside

Aachen has many beautiful parks, which are especially worthwhile in summer for a picnic or barbecue. One of them is Westpark, just 4 km from our student residence.

Incidentally, the Westpark has already had a number of functions. Zoological garden at the turn of the century in 1900, recreation home for soldiers during the First World War, pond and zoo. Today, the Westpark is a meeting place for young and old. With various sports and play facilities, it's not just children who enjoy a nice day outdoors. The special feature: Westpark is one of the few parks where barbecues are allowed in designated areas (meadow on Weststrasse), making it a popular meeting place for families and students.
